Counselor's Corner

A message from the School Counselor:

Hello Parents, Students, and Friends!

Welcome to CIS and the 2023-24 school year!

My name is Paula Stephenson, and I am the school counselor for Chandler Intermediate.  This is my 22nd year in education, and I am so excited to be back in school!!

As a school counselor, my job is to design and deliver school counseling programs that improve student outcomes.  I will work to maximize student success by providing equitable academic, career and social/emotional development opportunities for all students.

I am here to answer questions regarding programs such as Section 504, Dyslexia, Gifted and Talented, English as a Second Language, or any other questions parents/guardians might have about services and programs offered here at CIS.  If I don’t know the answer, I will find someone who does!  I am here to help students, parents, teachers and staff in any way that I can!

Throughout the school year, I will be visiting classrooms to teach guidance lessons on topics such as “Friendship”, “Drug Awareness”, “Kindness”, “Goal Setting”, and more.  I will also provide individual counseling for personal concerns, and small group counseling for specific topics related to school.

I am looking forward to a great year in Bear Country...a year in which all students thrive!  Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone, email, or scheduled visit if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Thank you for your partnership and support!
